The common misconception is that you have to be tech savvy and completely online to take the benefits of technology. The truth is technology is merely a tool to enhance your current physical structures and operations. Just like you don’t have to be an auto mechanic to drive a car similarly you don’t have to be software professional to take benefits of technology.

The Diagram below explains how technology can benefit

So if you are an Institute, Coaching Centre, Publisher, Administrator or an individual from the field of education technology has the right kind of tools that without disturbing your present setup can help you achieve exponential growth.

The truth is that technology, it is our friend, and Ignorance is the enemy. We fear the wrong thing – We fear new technology and deny ourselves rich benefits technology provides.

Today Students (consumers) use engaging technologies in collaborative enquiry based learning environments with teachers who are willing and able to use technology power to help them in transforming knowledge and skills into products, solutions and new information. Today these students who are trying to seek instant answers make 2.7 billion searches on Google. Don’t be a victim of Internet fraud

Posted by Growing Rupee on June 23, 2008

The Internet offers a global marketplace for consumers and businesses. Internet also offers one great advantage “anonymity”. You don’t know who the person is at the other end and what are the intentions behind the offer being given. Crooks recognize the potentials of cyberspace and have developed innovative ways of cheating people. It’s sometimes hard to tell the difference between genuine offers and offers made by criminals who use the Internet to rob people
You can protect yourself by learning how to recognize the danger signs of fraud. If you are a victim or attempted victim of Internet fraud, it’s important to report the scam quickly so that law enforcement agencies can shut the fraudulent operations down.

Listed below are the common categories under which frauds are taking place

Lottery and free money
Fake agency scandal
High growth investments
Bogus Credit Card Offers
Business Opportunities
Charity Scams
Sale General Merchandise
Government Grants
Free downloads
Identity Theft-Tips for Victims
Job Scams
Medicare -Cheap medicines
Nigerian Money Offers
Online Auctions
Pyramids and Multilevel Marketing
Scholarship Scams
Free tickets and travel Fraud
Work-at-Home Scams

All the frauds come under four distinct categories:-

-Sale of a product/service that will never be delivered
-Offer of free money
-Theft of identity – under the deception passwords and identities are stolen
-Placing of malicious software onto your computer with wrong intent

Before you decide to avail an offer ask a few questions and protect yourself from getting cheated.

  • Is the offer of product or service legal or are you are being tempted to an illegal thing?
  • Remember banned movies, books, drugs are all illegal if somebody is offering you an illegal product or service, the chances are you will never hear from the guy once money has been transferred
  • Is it to good to be true – remember there are no free lunches in the world?.  Why will somebody who does not know suddenly transfer millions into your account, how can you win a lottery you never purchased, How can you win a contest prize you never entered. How can you suddenly be eligible for grants or scholarships?
  • Is the offer genuine? can somebody really get you a job in those attractive companies without your clearing an interview? If the person has an inside information on an investment Stock & Commodities then why he is leaking information to you?
  • Work from Home opportunity Crooks are rampant here knowing that everybody wants to make bucks and if it can be made sitting at home -nothing better. Check the offer carefully, is it from legitimate company? or just plain nobody from nowhere. These opportunities fall in two categories one where you have to pay some money upfront before you can be enrolled and mostly the payments would be online here as they are hard to trace. The second will be job offers to fill in some forms where you will be paid on the quantity of work put in. Several of the offers are genuine especially if you don’t have to pay some money upfront to avail it but some companies are into “get free labour ” from you. Check the company, speak to the people who run the show before you sign in.

Not all offers are fake there are genuine good offers available on the net you need to filter them to choose the good ones.

Are Online Opportunities for Real?

Posted by Growing Rupee on June 20, 2008

Land of Opportunity

Land of Opportunity

Frankly speaking this question arises simply out of ignorance, of people failing to realize the end of industrial era. One look on the world around us shows that the world has changed it has gone digital, everything we did manually is now being done by the computers.

The needs have not changed, simply the way of doing them has changed, today you don’t have to go to railway station or airport to book your tickets we do it online. Banking is done online. Emails have replaced postal mail. Telephone directory is maintained on your mobile phones. We don’t send postcards anymore we send a SMS. Computers have replaced typewriters.

We still book our tickets to travel, we still write letters, we still do our banking, we still communicate but we do this digitally today.

Online opportunities are as real or as fake as we had in the non-digital world, people tend to jump on the world online simply because they fail to recognize the things have not changed the way of doing them has become digitally and online.

Some fantastic opportunities are opening as we are shifting from industrial age to the age of information and technology or as some experts believe the age of communication.

When industrial era started, we had these opportunities as assembly lines were set and mass production was adopted, skeptics at that time raised the same questions Are these opportunities real? Why will one prefer a readymade shirt to a tailor made, I will never buy it? The shoes my cobbler makes will be better than the shoes that come from a factory, these factories will shut down?

Technology has always scared people, people at one time people were scared of telephones and all sort of theories were built around use of the telephone. It’s the ignorance that causes fear and fear that cause rejection.

Successful will be those who can recognize the shift and adapt to online way of working.

Ignorance and fear will stop you from success, don’t be ignorant, and understand the new opportunities coming your way and take advantage.
